Payment link via email, add a promo code

We include a payment link in an email that we send to a distribution list.   We would like to add a promo code that can be provided to a subset of the people on the distribution list.   I have tried some of the things in other posts, but since we do not have an online store and we do not use a point of service with the square app, the directions don't appear to apply.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!   I'm real close to switching to Paypal ...

If you don't have an online store, what payment link do you include in your emails to your customers? Have you been sharing an invoice link? 

I just want to best understand your process before I suggest some workarounds. I'll look forward to your reply.

Thank you for your help!  We have an email distribution of over 500 people.   We had a kickoff meeting where around 60 people attended.    We want to send a code to the participants so  that they can attend the next event for free.    Here's an example of a email...

LAST CALL!    Limited Seats Remaining -- Click HERE to register and secure your spot!  Walk-ins will be accommodated subject to remaining event capacity.

Thank you for your help!   We send an email to a distribution list of over 500 people when we are ready to have an event.   We had a kickoff event in September, and we want to offer a discount to the next event to anyone who participated in the kickoff (about 60 people).   An example of the email is as follows:

The option right now to add promo codes or discounts to your payment links is currently not available, but it's a feature we are looking into. You can, however, use gift cards at check out! I know that it isn't related to your original question, but it is something that hopefully will help you in the future!
