Online won’t let me add inventory

I am working on Square Online using an iPad Pro. Two days ago I was easily able to add new items to a new store. But today, after adding a new item (from a Copied item which I am editing to make a new one) I am unable to add a Stock amount. The message I get is “Retrieving stock information...” which is fine, but it keeps thinking and thinking and thinking.... I leave it up for 10 minutes and it’s still thinking. I tried Powering Off my iPad, Signing Out of the online, leaving the listing and going back in. Nothing works. Oh, and I had already successfully made a new listing and added stock right before it went wacko on me. I don’t want to use the app since I am not using POS, I just want an online store. I have run into so many quirks with this store I am ready to kill it and go somewhere else. I am using the Free version so perhaps I shouldn’t complain but still. Worst online store ever!

HI, yes, it has been very busy lately.  Many others are reporting the same issue.  Best advice is to add items early in the AM or very late in the PM.  Many sellers upload thousands of items and can make the platform lag more than usual.

HI, this happens when adding inventory during the busiest time of the day.  It will eventually add the item with the ability to track stock.  

 

I use the free version on 4 different theme stores.  I have used BigCommerce, Shopify, Wix, PappaShop and many other platforms.  This, by far, is the easiest platform and offers so many options and features all for free!  

 

Best advice, add pages, add sections, add stories, add galleries and click on every down arrow and 3 little dots you can find.  All the features are easily found within drop down options.  Square has broken down the features into little bits that can create more.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! Yes I can see the delay might be due to increased traffic, especially since I’m not actually getting an Error message. I’ll have to learn to do my editing at less peak times I suppose. I’ll try it later and see if it works, and post an update. Also thank you for your general review of Square and encouragement that it is just as good as other free online stores. I hope as I work with it more it will stop being so quirking, since this is not the only issue I have had so far.

UPDATE: I just tried again to add Stock and viola!! It is working! I think, as suggested, it was just a matter of trying at a time and “squeezing” in amongst the traffic lol. I was successful at 2:45 pm EST when a little over an hour earlier I could not. Thanks for the advice, and hope this helps anyone else in the future that has the same issue.
