Online store vs virtual terminal

I am wondering the difference between virtual terminal and online store. Both allow entry of credit card info online, yet online store has cheaper processing fees. Why wouldnt I process all "card-not-present" orders through online store?

to process orders through the online store you have to have your items for sale on your Square website and your customers have to buy it thru that website, entering their own information thus having a less likelihood of a fraudulent transaction and the reason for a lower rate.
