Hi all. I use the free version of the Square point of sale software. I run a small bicycle repair business. I import my vendors items into square using the import tool. I am in the process of updating all of my pricing, as prices have inflated quite a bit over the last year or two. One of my vendors has almost 52,000 items, and I do lots of special ordering so I need all of those items in my software. Anyways, when I exported my items, the sales tax column exports like I would expect it to. But, when I go to import items, either update or replace (I've tried both), square is not showing a sales tax column. Clearly, 52,000 items is waaaaaaaay too many to manually turn sales tax on or off individually. In my spreadsheet, I can sort by category and have all of my Labor items set to No sales tax, and all taxable items set to Yes.
Can anybody give me some insight as to what I'm missing? Thanks!!!
This might be why.... Sales taxes have moved to Account and Settings....
I just went to investigate and help you with this and when I clicked on my Items page I was greeted with the above message.....Not sure if that might be why.
Try going here and making sure you sales tax % is filled in.
dashboard/business/manual-taxes
For me in PA I have 6% showing under the column Percentage.
