Is there a limit on how many items I can input into the square register?

I'm deciding to buy a square register for my shop and i was wondering if there is any limit of how many items i can input into the register and if so can i just plug inana external hard drive to expand the items i can put?

Happy to hear you're considering purchasing the Square Register. 

We don't currently have a limit to the amount of items a seller can have in their item library. It is known that performance can start to get slower at around 10,000 items. How many items do you have?
