International Payments via Square on Squarespace?

I have a service business and a Squarespace website (not an e-commerce site as I do not sell physical products).  

 

I am US based and have a potential client in Canada.  Squarespace which now owns Acuity Scheduling, offers integration with Square as a Payment processor so that the client can pay for the session when they book their appointment.  

 

Can International clients, specifically Canadian use this Squarespace/Acuity/Square integration (pay when booking on my website via Acuity), or do I have to send them an invoice instead?  

 

Is there a layer of risk if I allow clients (any clients, not just international clients) to vault/save their credit cards rather than having them enter it each time in that saved credit card info might increase my liability or subject the client to potential card compromise?

Here’s what I know from charging internationally with square… 

 

Square can charge internationally without charging you (the seller/servicer) a conversion rate. I’m based in the UK and have sold to Australian customers before and it’s worked out just perfectly.

 

Square Pay is a secure setup and Square wouldn’t offer it if they felt there was an extreme risk to customers and users therefore it is safe for your customer to keep their card on file with you through square, but they of course have an option and can change their mind at any point, causing for a need of action by you to remove data from their customer profile.

 

From my knowledge you’re totally safe to use Square to process payments all over the world in most countries*! You can also gain extra protection against threats with square secure - all you have to do is upload some documentation and your account gains even more protection against chargebacks and such situations.

*use of the word most in the lack of knowledge over whether square is not supported for the customer in any specific location.
