If I change my product items to modifiers will my reports from last year work?

So I am thinking about changing my menu to use modifiers for sizes of items. Currently I have each size as an item and use very few modifiers. Now I see it is possible to see reports of modifiers. So my question is if I change how will that effect last years reports? Thanks in advance. T

the previous year's report will not be affected as the change will only happen from the day you implement it on.
