Hey @WayneNes, welcome to the seller community.

Security is our top priority. Sorry for the confusion with your customers—they can verify that the site is secure by checking that the URL begins with "https".

Hope this helps clear things up. If your customers are still running into this issue, can you let us know which page or URL that are they seeing this message? We'll be happy to take closer look.

This isn't the question here, Tom. The issue is that if We use a domain registered for use with our square site and people go there it is NOT secyre, and says so, which drives off just about ANY/ALL potential customers. If someone were to click on cart it then redirects to a secure square up checkout, BUT the face page is NOT secured.  My domain is registered at google THROUGH You guys, yet anyone using studiodaviuss.com will come to the site with a giant "not secured" warning. no one is going to follow thtough to a cart after seeing that, and I have lost almost ALL my online sales since switching here. Google has told me numerous times to contact YOU guys about it, yet the "bot" is useless.

PLEASE HELP.

Hey @Daviiuss,

Thank you for taking the time to clarify, and I'm really sorry for the frustration. I went to check for updates on this request and, while our Online Store Team is tracking this issue, there isn't a specific timeline that I can access for when this feature may be added.

We will announce any updates as soon as we're able to support an SSL certificate on all Online Store pages—not just the checkout page itself.

In addition, I'll be sure to highlight your post as an example for why it's important to install an SSL certificate for Online Stores with custom domains.

Would we be able to have a domain registered as secure through a third-party? Otherwise I'm going to have to seek hosting elsewhere. I'm sure most of the people wuth this sameissue would agree. This would hopefully be a good reason to support SSL.

Sorry to keep you waiting! I ran this by our Online Store folks and they have the following suggestion:

Currently Square doesn't provide this certificate but many hosting providers support one-click installation of SSL certificates from Let's Encrypt—a free, automated, open-source certificate authority.

Hope this resource helps get you where you need to be. We'll definitely announce any updates as soon as we're able to offer a more streamlined solution.

Well then how about some information so I can attempt to do this. First of all it is NOT automated becuase You don't support SSL.

I'm guessing We DON'T have SHELL access? The following is taken from Let's Encrpyt:

"If your hosting provider does not support Let’s Encrypt, you can contact them to request support. We do our best to make it very easy to add Let’s Encrypt support, and providers are often happy to hear suggestions from customers!

If your hosting provider doesn’t want to integrate Let’s Encrypt, but does support uploading custom certificates, you can install Certbot on your own computer and use it in manual mode. In manual mode, you upload a specific file to your website to prove your control. Certbot will then retrieve a certificate that you can upload to your hosting provider. We don’t recommend this option because it is time-consuming and you will need to repeat it several times per year as your certificate expires. For most people it is better to request Let’s Encrypt support from your hosting provider, or switch providers if they do not plan to implement it."

To make matters worse I just realised that SQUAREUP is NOT SQUARESPACE. Might be time to simply find a host that CAN supply SSL, digital file hosting/downloads, and even international ordering for cipes sake. ><

I am having this same issue and am discouraged, seeing that these posts are from FOUR YEARS ago, and yet this issue is still recurring. Square is a COMMERCE provider ... and it doesn't provide secure website hosting???

I have the same issue. I've seen that if you use a third party domain or OWN your own domain that it SHOULD be SECURE... BUT ITS NOT. Squares customer service is HORRIBLE and they do little to help. I am going to cancel my website and will not pay the monthly payment if this isnt resolved QUICKLY. I've built many websites and never had this issue. Think my worst decision was using Square to begin with. Would not recommend to anyone. Not even beginners. Waste of money and the company does close to nothing to help. The half ass responses only make me more angry.
