I am the gallery director at a local not-for-profit cultural center. The gallery receives artist entries each month that are exhibited for that month. Artist entries include: paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and greeting cards to name but a few of the items. The items are designed by different artists. I currently set up categories noting each of the entry types noted above. I was advised by tech support that each entry requires a unique item name. For one-of-a-kind paintings, I can figure out a method that makes sense (I think) using the artist name followed by the title of the piece; however, I'm not sure how to define the item names for the hundreds of greeting cards, whereby the artist is not readily known, and some of which have multiples of the same image. Can anyone offer advice?

Thanks for bringing this up. As I read your post, it sounds like one of the main issues is that, if someone purchases a wide variety of greeting cards, it may be cumbersome to manually look up each item in the app.
I wanted to suggest that you get set up with a bar code scanner. While I realize that this does involve more cost with initially getting set up, it would allow you to process the sale with ease, track inventory, and remove some pressure with regard to how the item is named. For more information on how to set this up, have a look here: Bar Code Scanner Recommendations.
Hope this helps get you in the right direction. If any other sellers have experience or pro tips on what's worked well with a similar situation—please do weigh in!🙂
