Why am I charged processing fees if I signed up using a referral link? I’m supposed to get a year free or something of the sort

Thank you for posting in the Seller Community. Happy to provide a bit more insight on this.

When you invite friends to join Square, you both benefit from rewards, including credits on processing fees up to $1,000 in sales over the next 180 days (6 months). As an existing seller referring someone to Square, you’ll also have the option to take advantage of $20 off a Square Contactless + Chip Reader.

To view your free processing reimbursements, visit Balance in your online Square Dashboard and use the date-selector tool to choose a date range of transfers. Select a transfer from the list to view your free processing credits included in that transfer.

You can also view your reimbursements by downloading the Transfers spreadsheet from the sameBalance tab. Your free processing reimbursements will populate beneath the associated transactions
