How does Square Gift Card info sync up with Quickbooks Online?

Our Square data gets synced with Quickbooks Online each night. If we start offering Square Gift Cards, I'm assuming that when they are purchased, they will be booked under liabilities. Once the card is redeemed, does the amount get taken out of liablities and put into sales automatically with each sync?

Hello @Kelandmolly! This is a great question.

Since your question is about how the gift card data shows up on Intuit's software, you might want to reach out to them directly

On Square's side, you will receive the funds for the gift card purchase in your next deposit. So this sale of the card will be reported in the sales summary. Any purchases made with a gift card will show up under it's own category in this report as well.

If you have any other questions regarding the Square side of reporting or gift cards, let me know! 😃

I have my square sales transfered to Quickbooks thru the Commerse Sync. Where do Gift Card sales and Gift Card redeemed get posted? Do I need to set up another account in Quickbooks for this?

I’m wondering if you found an answer to this question.  I’ve sold some e gift cards and the value has definitely been transferred to quickbooks but I’m just not sure where??

I'm afraid I can't help with this as Square gift cards are not tied to WooCommerce at all.

Any sales you make directly in your Square account for products or the Square Gift Cards, does not pass through or sync with WooCommerce.

If you have a connected your Square account directly to Intuit in order to sync transactions, whoever made that integration would be who can help you best.
