We've been accepting online orders, and each order falls into the Orders tab in our Square App. We go to fill the order and "mark it as ready" but have no way of printing the receipt to put with the order.
We have had to navigate back to "transactions" and manually search for the order, print the receipt, go back and find the customers name, and hand write it onto the slip.
How do I print a receipt or order slip to go with pre paid online orders customers will be picking up?
It sounds like you're using the Square Point of Sale app on your phone to process your online orders - is that right, @UTShop?
If so, you won't be able to print orders straight from your phone unless you have a compatible receipt printer connected to your device. Once you've found a printer that's compatible with your device, head here to learn how to turn on order tickets.
Another option for printing orders would involve using a device that can be hooked up to a normal printer. You'll want to head to the Online Store section of your Square Dashboard first, then click Orders. Here, you can click on the order itself, then click Print Order in the top right-hand corner of the screen:

So we are using an iPad and I do have a printed that is connected. We are able to successfully print all other receipts.
I'm just hoping to print directly from the Orders tab, instead of having to print from "Transactions" for the online orders. We have to just guess which transaction was the online order print from there, and navigate back to the orders tab.
Should we be printing the online orders from the Online Store?
Hi @UTShop your printer should be able to print all incoming pickup orders for you immediately. Make sure to set this up under Settings > Hardware > Printer Settings, but you can toggle on Use this printer for online order tickets.
That way, once an order is placed, it should print for you and you won't have to manually search the transaction. I wouldn't want to do that either!
It would be super helpful to be able to print a customer's receipt directly from the order screen of the point of sale, rather than having to find it in transactions. Also, if the customer's name was on the receipt, for orders, that would be great.

I've had absolutely no luck setting up my iPad to print anything in reference to an online order. Tickets don't print automatically, and I can't print anything but a receipt manually after the order has been marked as complete. I'd like to have tickets printed to make it easier to pack the items before the customer arrives, and it would also help me keep track of when online orders are placed.
I've got the current version of Retail and am using a compatible printer and iPad.
Please help!
A feature I'd like to see is the option to print a receipt directly from the order screen. We're a retail store and have online orders coming in, but I really hate having to jump between the order screen and transaction screen to print out a receipt and then go back to the order screen to get their contact info.
