How do I create nonprofit giving reports for individuals for tax purposes?
Hello @GraceChurch and thanks for your post. I'll try to contribute to your question, but may not know all of the info to accurately do so. If you need more clarification, please tell me more about how you are using Square with your business...but as far as reporting goes...if you're looking to make a custom report from Square, you can create separate categories or items, and run a report to show those items. If you are giving donations to particular people or businesses, you could create a separate item or category called their NAME, and then run a report to find those names.
Please remember that Square's reporting is limited to mostly showing inventory items sold, Credit card payments processed, cash collected. Expenses are usually shown with your separate business accounting software like Quickbooks, etc. There are other business expenses (such as rent, electricity, utilities, misc expenses for operations, etc) that Square DOES NOT track. Square really only reports income received through sales of items and services, collected by credit card, cash, check etc. I would rely most on your accounting software to generate those kinds of reports for you.
