Halloween for your Business? 🎃 👻

Hi Community!

For most folks, Halloween is a spooky, fun-filled holiday sprinkled with awesome costumes and tasty treats.

As a Square Seller, what does Halloween mean to you or to your business? Is it just another day with a few decorations here and there, or will you be turning your business location into your city’s scariest haunted house?

Will you be closing your business to enjoy the Halloween fun? Or will you be keeping your doors open for Trick-Or-Treaters and hosting the next great costume contest complete with prizes and awards?

No matter your preference, Halloween presents a great marketing opportunity for businesses. Many sellers choose to take advantage of the increased foot traffic in their location by creating Email-Marketing Campaigns that promote discounts for customers dressed in costumes and passing out candy during business hours to Trick-Or-Treaters. Here in the Bay Area the Temescal Telegraph Business District does this really well, and all of the local sellers come together to help out.

As highlighted in our Square Blog Post, many well-known businesses use Social Media as a way to connect with their buyers during Halloween with Instagram Costume Contests and DIY Halloween Ideas.

Do you have any pictures, decorations, ideas, or stories on how your business celebrates Halloween?

@Ron - Thanks for the pics! 🎃  This looks awesome! Out of curiosity, do you find that your sales change at all on Halloween? Do you think adding decorations helps drive traffic? Have you tried sending one of Square's Halloween email marketing campaigns or done anything else?

@Sean, Yes I do believe sales pick up around Halloween, partly because we are in a busy historic Farmers Market with no air conditioning and it starts getting cooler, also th holiday shopping season gets more people out and about. Decorading sure does help also, it brings lots of kids to our Stand and of course ALL kids love French Fries. We also have Trick or Treat Day where we hand out candy to all the kids and adults in a costume. Anytime you can bring attention to your business equals more sales. Never tried Square's Email Marketing for Halloween but I am sure that would bring even more customers.
