I've looked everywhere and cannot find whether there is a feature to automatically fulfill online orders when shipping isn't involved. I sell tickets to a murder mystery dinner and once the client pays, they are confirmed and we use the list as a will call list. I don't ship a ticket or anything to them. Having to fulfill this is a pain. Is there a way (other than point of sale in person) to set it so a particular item can automatically fulfill once purchased?
I do that in my Square account but I don't see an electronic option here in Squarespace. Could you direct me?
Hi @thegratidudes,
Thanks for reaching out. For my understanding, and to look into this a bit more, you mentioned you're using SquareSpace to sell your products (the third party website builder)? Is that correct?
Feel free to let me know by replying directly in this thread. Thank you!
Correct. I'm using the COMMERCE section of Squarespace to sell an item. The item is a dinner so there is nothing to ship (we do will call and just check peoples names off when they check in off our sale history). However, I have to fulfill each ticket sold right now. I'm wondering if there is a way to have an electronic feature (I also use Square Up merchant and on their platform there is an electronic option where no fulfillment is necessary). However, with Squarespace Commerce, I've looked everywhere and I see no setting to avoid having to fulfill an order. My bigger question is 'what happens if I don't fulfill'? With Square Up, they refund the customer if it's not fulfilled. You can set the number of days you have to ship prior to them refunding. Prior to realizing this, orders were coming in and I didn't know I had to manually fulfill and I had several purchases refunded to the customer. I don't want this to happen again through Squarespace Commerce, so I'm wondering if I don't fulfill, do they refund, or does the status simply stay as Pending?
Understood. Thank you for that breakdown. When Square integrates with a third party partner, we only see the payment information relayed to our side for processing. I wouldn't be to sure if Squarespace uses a the fulfillment section the same as we do in our own online store.
I would recommend reaching out to Squarespace directly to confirm.
