Email associated with inactive Square account, but need it with my current account

It is not letting me change my current account's email because it says it's associated with another account (it was previously mine, but i deactivated it). How can I update this?

The best way to do it will call customer service, they can change the email on both accounts and put the correct one in the account you currently use, or you can try as well putting on there for example: "(delete) + (youremailaddress)@gmail.com"
