Carbon Credits
Hello, Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Carbon Credit or Net Zero. I would like to move towards a more climate positive or climate neutral model. If anyone has any advice as far as integrating these into their website I would love to hear it. Thanks, Corey

@RainyDayz Carbon Credits are an interesting idea where one person basically gets permission to emit CO2 by purchasing it to support something else that reduces CO2 or trades for it. Obviously it is more complicated than that, but as a small business, I would see a lot more value in ways you can run your business to reduce emissions and go green. I think that would be more meaningful to your customers.
Here are some ideas:
- Investing in renewable energy by funding wind, hydro, geothermal, and solar power generation projects, or switching to such power sources wherever possible.
- Improving energy efficiency across the world, for instance by providing more efficient cookstoves to those living in rural or more impoverished regions. (Equipment turn on lists, energy saving modes, water saving, buying new equipment)
- Capturing carbon from the atmosphere and using it to create biofuel, which makes it a carbon-neutral fuel source.
- Returning biomass to the soil as mulch after harvest instead of removing or burning. This practice reduces evaporation from the soil surface, which helps to preserve water. The biomass also helps feed soil microbes and earthworms, allowing nutrients to cycle and strengthen soil structure. (Composting trash/Recycling)
- Promoting forest regrowth through tree-planting and reforestation projects. (Community Projects to plant trees)
- Switching to alternate fuel types, such as lower-carbon biofuels like corn and biomass-derived ethanol and biodiesel.

Hi Donnie, thanks!
Yes, I absolutely agree with everything you said. Most of the examples you mention are things I already take part in. Using Aspiration for banking has been a great way to keep my business in line with my values.
I guess I was thinking more about ways the customer and myself could have the option to neutralize some of the impact from things like shipping.
