Can you use a magstripe card reader on 2 different iPhones?

Can I use one reader successfully on two different iPhones as long as the login information for square is the same on both phones?  For some reason, it doesn't seem to be working after we downloaded the app on a friends phone for situations where I am not available to take payments on my phone.  Thanks.

You definitely can, as our readers are universal and not associated with any personal or account info. They can be shared across accounts and devices; it's the account that is logged into the app that matters!

The reader is not account-specific.  Whichever account is open when you use it is the account that the reader will report the data to.
