Can my square terminal manage gym memberships?

Has anyone used Square and the retail terminal to manage gym memberships? looking to issue Gym cards and use the card reader to quickly see if a member has paid.

I’m likely not the POS expert your looking to answer this question, but I’ll give you all I know!

I don’t believe the terminal can currently read a card other than a credit/debit card or Square gift card, (I may be wrong) therefore I don’t think you could use the terminal exactly how you had planned, HOWEVER, you should be able to look through customer profiles to see their past purchases, therefore allowing you to see whether they have paid.

We have an integration with Square that automates discounts and product redemptions based on the rules that you configure.  For example you can create a membership for a product or which entitles the member to a discount.  Our software tracks and communicates the membership benefits with Square so that you don't have to track anything manually.

Hello do you offer a way to have key tags/rfid tags and membership options along with your software? I’m opening up a gym and need a membership with key tags

We don't have an integration like this at the moment, @Ambz - but if you're looking for an all-round gym system to manage memberships, check-ins and the like, a dedicated gym point of sale might be a better fit. While you could use workarounds like Square gift cards or online memberships, our software is more suitable as a standard point of sale, for Retailers, Restaurants, Cafés and 1-on-1 appointment-based businesses, like hairdressers.
