Can anyone help with network issues for a Star Micronics printer?

My job recently purchased a Star Micronics TSP143L printer for three of our sites. While this printer is working lovely at our other two locations, we are running into some ethernet issues at the third place - don't want to get into it, but there is no available ethernet port in the immediate area for us to plug the printer into.

That being said, is there an alternative printer that is Square compatible that doesn't require an ethernet hook up at all? Something that just requires a USB hookup? I realize this may be a long shot but looking for alternative solutions so that we can still print receipts on site for our customers...

Any help or insight is appreciated!

Solution

At a friend's location that I helped setup we used a wireless repeater to setup a second wifi hotspot in the area of the retail checkout and it also provided the ethernet ports neccesary for the printer.

I'm not sure if this is the exact model I used, but this is the right idea just may not be the exact model we used.

Interesting! @VanKalkerFarms - so to clarify, you just plugged the receipt printer into the extender and it worked fine? We currently have this wifi extender in our offices: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NR2VMNC?psc=1 - it has one available ethernet port.

Yes. I had to set up the router and then the printer plugged into the router and square was able to see it.

In this situation I was grabbing wifi from across the parking lot redistributing it on another wifi name and then plugged the printer in.
