Me and a few of my co-workers are considering using Square appointments in the salon that we work at. There are 4 of us in the salon and it would be easier if we could see eachothers books and we are looking for a different program than the one we have now, two of us use one program, but the other two still use paper books. My question is, if we use Square appointments will we have to use our individual pos? Or is there a way for us to check out the client and have the money go to our individual accounts? We are all booth rent and one is the owner so we are trying to see if we can link more than one account. If we can't then it isn't worth it to use Square appointments. We have an assistant that helps us and makes appointments for us and we make appointments for eachother. So it would be nice to give the assistant more responsibility, such as checking out clients. But that isn't possible if we can only link one square account for the money to go to.
That's a good question. You can always try out square and if it doesn't fit your needs, cancel it. That's how we looked at it in the beginning. Now? I can't imagine not having it. We have 3 artists in our studio and some still use paper books as back up or sometimes just for jotting things down quickly to load later. I don't know of a way to have money deposited into seperate accounts in the same square calendar subscription. That doesn't mean its impossible, I just don't know of it. However, there is a way in google to "share with" someone else also using a google calendar. As the shop owner we can see the calendar for our other artists and we pay the subscription. Our artists only see their own appointments. All transactions are deposited into our account and we pay out to the artists once a week. I just wanted to also mention the self schedule option that you might want to also consider. Square allows you to share a link at the bottom of appointment confirmation or reminder texts that allows the client to go in and schedule another appointment with anyone on our staff. Of course we share this link throughout social media and marketing emails also. But it does help our clients. So be sure to check out all of the features so you're comparing apples to apples before you make your final decisions.
Just my opinion, maybe you keep your cash transactions, and any credit card payments the shop takes, the owner can use towards your space rental each month? That way the assistant can set up appointments and check people out in one screen. You can each have a sign on and the owner selects who has what permissions and who sees what in Square. I'm sure there's a setting to see each other's calendar, if not use google share. The automatic appointment confirmation and reminder emails and texts were what brought us to their appointments and that alone makes it worth the monthly fee. It substantially helps with no shows.
I hope this helps you. Best of luck!
