I accidently entered Janpan as country when tring to use my redemption code for the square card reader device I bought at Best Buy (Japan was pre selected when I followed the instruction on the first page of my manual telling me to go to square.com/redeem.) As soon as I entered my email for the second time, it started processing. Everything was in Japanese, and I couldn't connect to the account. Once selected, you can't change country, so I sent an email to square Japan to cancel my account, I got a response that once google tranlated to english didn't really make sense. I had to set up a second account so I could use my card reader device. Now it appears that my redemption code is lost in limbo. I cant attach a bank to the japanese account and when I try to redeem through my US account it won't work since the redemption code has been used. I tried to get phone support thinking I could fix this quickly, but its not available today. I hope things get better, this is about the worst first experience with a product I have ever had. Is this par for the course? If so, I will cut my losses and find a better product.
Square has been great for us. Unfortunately, by choosing Japan when signing up your account has been made into a Japenese Square account, I don't think there is a setting that you can change on your end to fix that. For right now I would continue setting up your new account in English and contact Square on Monday and they will be able to transfer your $10 credit over to your new account.
