At Square, weโ€™re making changes to rolling out new features more frequently every two weeks. This post is a longer special catch-up edition for our Community members, covering features that have been rolled out recently from February 27 to March 27, 2026 โ€” that's THIRTY FOUR new features and improvements in total.

Item variations can now appear as individual tappable tiles on your Square Point of Sale grid in Standard mode. This makes it faster to ring up specific variations without opening a selection screen.

Combo meals configured in Square for Franchises now support multiple item selections and upcharges on individual combo components. This gives franchisees more flexibility when customizing combo offerings.

You can now configure which sales channels are active at each location from your menu settings. For example, you can enable online ordering at one location while keeping it disabled at another.

You can now import menu items from various file formats including spreadsheets and PDFs. Square automatically maps data fields and helps you bulk upload items to your catalog.

The hardware configuration flow for ordering devices in Setup Guide has been streamlined. The updated flow makes it easier to connect kitchen display systems and printers with fewer configuration steps.

Kitchen display names now stay in sync when you update item names in your catalog. Previously, display names had to be manually updated separately.

Cross-border transaction fees visible in reports: @mdrobena while we donโ€™t yet have a way to disable international cards like in your request, it should now be easier to see reporting & itemized fees associated with international transactions. 

 

Calculate tips on the full amount before loyalty redemptions: I came across your request @Apt9F for calculating tips prior to discount or gift cards being redeemed. Although the exact feature does not exist yet, if you are using Square Loyalty, there should now be an option to calculate tips before OR after customers use their Loyalty rewards.
