[New] Item bundles on Square Online

Item bundles were previously packaged exclusively within Square for Retail. We’ve now made them available to all subscribers of Square Online Plus or Premium! 

This feature allows you to:

• Combine multiple components into one item bundle and sell those items together online
• Still have the ability to track inventory of the individual components
• This is great for sellers who want to create and sell gift sets and product sets on their Square Online site. They can even be sold as a subscription using Square Subscriptions.

This feature can help you:

• Better track inventory of individual components regardless of how you sell the items
• Increase sales and AOV by cross-selling and upselling of similar products to your customers
• Create promotional products around special events and holidays 

Where can I create item bundles?

• Bundle creation can be accessed when creating a new item in your Square Catalog
• A new option will be listed called “Sell as a bundle”

Who can access item bundles?

• This feature was previously available to only Square for Retail Plus sellers. Now item bundles are available to Square Online Plus and Premiums sellers. 
• You only have to be subscribed to either Square for Retail Plus or Square Online Plus to access item bundles.

Item bundles are indeed available to Australian Sellers on Square Online!

To create item bundles, you'll need a subscription to Square for Retail Plus. These bundles can be sold through Square for Retail, Square Point of Sale, and Square Online.

The article states that this is now available for Square Online Plus accounts. I was wondering if this is correct as I am not a Square for Retail customer. I am a Square Online Plus subscriber and can not find this bundle option anywhere on the item creation screen.

It does appear that way based on the above @dimo10, but when we navigate to the Australian version of the linked Support Article, it states this feature is only available through the Retail Plus subscription (see 'Who has access to create and manage bundles' in the FAQs at the bottom of the page).

There could be slight variations from market to market with this launch, so I'll ask @eugoh21 to jump back in here and confirm whether the above article is specific to the US market only, or if it's just a matter of updating the Australian Support Article.

I don't have it available (in Australia), although I think my plan is changing to the Online Plus (from Performance?) next week with my annual subscription renewal, so hopefully I can get it then?

Great question, @Girlvic! I'd be happy to confirm. @dimo10, I'm looping you back in as well, since we intended to get back to you on this.

We can now confirm that Item Bundles are available to all Sellers currently subscribed to, as well as those transitioning to the Square Online Plus plan. Our online Support Article has been updated with these details.

Hi @Tommer1 sorry that you're having trouble here. But yes this should be available to you. One thing to check is whether you are trying to edit an existing item, because trying to convert an existing item into a bundle won't work. Bundle creation will only show up during new item creation and requires you to do so through your Square Dashboard.

Thanks for getting this up and working for us, i was just wondering why we can't add modifiers to bundled items.

I want to sell a Burger combo online but i cant add the usual modifier i have for my burgers to the combo item.  Is there some way of doing this i am not aware of?

Hey @dimo10, just jumping in for Laurie here.

Currently, the ability to add modifiers to bundled items isn’t supported.

I’d encourage you to visit our Ideate Board to see if there's an existing feature request for this. If so, please add your comments to support it, detailing how it would positively impact your business. If there isn't one already, feel free to create a new feature request and invite other Sellers to share their thoughts and experiences.

In the meantime, you could achieve a similar result creating an Automatic Discount that applies a dollar or percentage discount when both or multiple items are added to the cart.
