[Improvement] SevenRooms x Square for Restaurants reservation deposits feature launch

Hi sellers! 

 

Square is excited to announce that the Square <> SevenRooms integration now supports reservation deposits! Sellers can now automatically apply a guest’s reservation deposits to their final bill from Square POS. 

 

Important things to note: 

  • Reservation deposits feature is only available on the new Square for Restaurants POS
  • Tipping rates will be based on the entire meal amount, and not the meal amount minus deposit. 
  • Deposit refunds should be handled through SevenRooms and not through Square.
  • Seated Status must be enabled in order for deposits to be automatically applied to the final bill.
    • When Seated Status is disabled, deposits can only be manually applied to orders once an order for a reservation is manually created on the POS.

If you are an existing seller utilizing the SevenRooms integration and collecting deposits, please begin using this feature for a smooth experience at the end of your guest’s dining service. 

 

Mandatory requirements for deposits:

  • Enable Seated Status (for deposits to be automatically applied)
  • Must be on the new Square for Restaurants POS
  • Must be on an active SevenRooms account to use the integration
