my reader has had little use. Just tried to test it and am getting the message This Reader is Permanently Disabled. Anyway around this?

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear about your reader!
Unfortunately there's no getting around this one - that message is a generic error covering anything internal issues that may render the reader unusable.
You can replace the reader under warranty though by logging into your Square account and going through the warranty flow. Let me know if you have any questions!
