multiple subscription products in a single checkout

Hi everyone! We offer our prepackaged coffee on a monthly subscription (10% off). I've had several customers who want to subscribe to two different coffee varieties in the same order, but they can't check out with both subscription items in their cart, even though both are eligible. Instead, they have to complete one subscription purchase and then go back and place a second order for the other coffee.

Has anyone run into this before or found a workaround? Thanks in advance!

Hey  !

Yeah working with Square’s subscription services is….. challenging. Workarounds become an art form to make subs work the way you want. 

For what you’re doing, I have found adding an extra modifier group to the subscription is the easiest way to add multiple items to one sub. 

For me I have a modifier with

-no additional coffee

-add a coffee (+$15)

The only problem I’ve found with this is that if you’re relying on weights for real time shipping rates, this will be an issue since you can’t have variable weights allotted to a product.

Thanks, Ryan! Hmmm, does that modifier remove the coffee from inventory as well? I don't do weights for shipping so that wouldn't be an issue for me.

@emilyz123 sadly no, the modifier doesn’t affect inventory. This is definitely a workaround, and I’ve come to accept that there will be tradeoffs when dealing with the subscriptions product. 😞
