the account is on a temporary hold that has lasted 8 days. I still dont know why. no one can tell me anything other than "the review team has to finish its review..." who is the review team and why do I have to wait for a review? the customer paid for a good or service or both with a credit card that was processed successfully. That money does not belong to the review team, it belongs to me. normally i wouldnt care but right now i needed that money to pay my phone bill. So if the review team is trying to reach me, sorry, my phone is off.
@Æarth I’m sorry to hear about this. Merchant account holds/freezes/reviews are triggered for a number of reasons. All card processing companies like Square have review teams whose task it is to be sure that any suspicious activity (NOT necessarily on your part) can be investigated and resolved. Square’s systems might have noticed something, VISA/Mastercard might have, a bank or card issuer might have, one of your customers might have initiated an inquiry, etc. At this point, unfortunately, all you can do is wait while Square finishes what is required of it by law and by regulation.
