Will my Australian Square account work while I am in the US

I am going to New York (USA) for 1 week and while there I need to take payments for the products I'll be selling.

I have an Australian Square account.

Will my square account still work while I am over there and do the normal $ conversion at the checkout point or will I need to create a new US Square account?

Great Question.

You are correct! Your Australian account will not work while visiting the US. 

Cross-border card payments are unsupported. This means that card transactions attempted outside of the country where you activated your Square account can't be processed with Square. However, you can accept cash transactions while traveling internationally.

To create a new Square account upon arrival you'll need the following: 

• Full legal name.
• Social Security number (SSN)
• US-based bank account.
• Date of birth: Current credit card regulations require our customers to be 18 years of age or older to create a Square account.
• US home mailing address.

Alternative scenario:  If I have my laptop with me in the US and open my website shop and process a customers payments that way will it work?
