Why doesn’t Weebly and Square sale prices sync?

We have set up a sale on our weebly (square online) store. It features great sale icons, crossed out RRP’s to represent a sale and it works well. But, it doesn’t feed through to our Instagram shopping as that catalogue is sync’d with Square.

I can manually change the unit price on Square but that just lowers the price on Instagram shopping but doesn’t visually show it’s in the sale which is misguiding to our customers.

Am I missing a solution for this?

Hi @TWR07, thank you for reaching out!

By default, item prices are synced between Square and the Online Store. However, on the Online Store, you can add a Sale price, which is for online only and wouldn't change your prices in Square.

I've checked in with our team about this and I'm afraid this is a limitation within the system at the moment. Instagram pulls the prices directly from your Square account and not your Online Store, which does not factor in the sale prices. I've flagged this as a feature request so hopefully the way information is pulled over will be change in the future.

This really needs to be addressed as Facebook Commerce grows.  We've just reduced our summer plants by 50% and encountered the same problem - very hard to promote.

I am sorry to hear that someone is experiencing the same problem but it really does need to be addressed. Facebook and Instagram shopping are a big deal for brands and a 'one touch' to checkout the way of the future. If people can't visually see the sale price they won't click through to find out.

Weebly how can we formally register this as a request for change please?

Thank you.

There used to be a separate Weebly area for feature requests - however I think this is the new "area"  Weebly online and square are still quite separate and often features are added without a release as such.  I've been requesting MP4 video / for item images - for 2 years.  It does seem silly that a retail app does not display a sale price across all platforms - that said it is the same for catagories. I'm sure it will come

Hi - another vote from me on getting Online sale prices sync'd to Instagram. It was very complicated getting Instagram Shopping to work with Square at all, and now I discover sale prices don't come over 😣

On the topic of Online sale prices, we also need a better way to manage them in bulk. Unlike regular Square prices I can't seem to bulk edit sale prices (or import new prices) for Online - thus have to go into each item to change/delete their sale price!?

It's very frustrating, I'm not sure WHY you can't add a sale field to our square items at the back end and sync them with our online store and instagram store, if we can figure out how to upload our items in a format them has a sale column for inventory and don't have coding training then this is totally doable and necessary for getting customers to follow through on a purchase.

Thank you for keeping this discussion going @Twiggy @TWR07 and for sharing how important this is for your business. (Thanks also for looping in our Beta Manager @JessRog!)

This is really great feedback for the Square Online team - anyone else reading this is welcome to contribute too.

Thanks for posting back to us all. Is this something that will definitely get looked into and if so what time frame are we looking at please. I am seriously considering our business options and swapping our system as for us Facebook and Instagram shopping is a vital part of our future and not being able to use this funtion is a problem.

Many thanks.

@JessRog @TWR07

This feature is key to anyone wanting to run a physical store, online shop and social media.

We need to be able to see and use a sale price across all sytems.

It should not be hard we are talking about sinking one field.

I appreciate the link to facebook is affected by their system but I cant even sink between online store and local square retail app.

This has obviously been requested for months!

Any update?

I totally agree. Very easy to fix features don’t get updated and we have now discovered that we can’t access google shopping either and yet we pay almost the same for a shopify site. I think we are about to change supplier as the world has shifted online and this service simply isn’t forward thinking enough.

Hi @SGM1 and @TWR07, thanks for sharing this! I completely understand your frustration and how this feature is needed to help run your business smoothly. Feature requests can take time and effort for our team to build out and to ensure that they aren't just surface level products, but the best all-around resources.

While I hope to have a positive update for you here soon, I unfortunately don't have a definitive timeline to share just yet. I'll follow up as soon as I have more to share.

@tranguyen

Another meaningless response!

We are talking basic functionality and something as simple as syncing a field. Yes extra functionality round this would be useful but it's about as basic as it gets.

What are the top 5 features your team are working on as I get a similar response to yours to every question I ask and there seem to be a significant number of threads asking about improvements but little published on released features.

I have the Beta android app and I cannot see any surface differences to the main one. (I'm sure Ive missed something but I would expect beta features to be highlighted)

I am happy to work with you in any way I can (Beta team etc). I know I am a small nobody but that must represent a significant part of your client base and most business owners will just change supplier rather than enter into these forums as they want a quick, simple, route to epos and online sales.

Come on we need more than "I'll follow up as soon as I have more to share" which on a significant number of threads never seems to happen!

If its not an option then say so!

If its going to take 2 years then say so!

If you've stopped development then say so!

At least then users can decide how to proceed.

Thanks for your reply @SGM1. Our Product teams take a lot of things into consideration when developing new features and addressing limitations of current features. We shared some of our processes here. Because features can take time to build and we want to make sure new features are working as intended, this can mean unexpected delays that would push a launch back, so I don't have information at hand as to exactly when a feature is released until the team is ready to disclose more. If the team are able to provide a date, I'll make sure to flag it in the appropriate channels.

I would encourage you to check out our Beta Community to join and potentially get access to new features first when we test them out.

Adding my voice to needing this! At the moment we're having to put a sale price on the Online item while also adding an automatic discount for Dashboard for every discounted item, but this then doesn't show the actual sale price in Dashboard (or pull that price through on anything that uses that data). The sale price should definitely be able to sync across both systems - can the Sale Price for Online products just pull the price override value, instead of that field going automatically to the normal price for Online items?
