Variations using existing product

I want to add a variation to an item but the variation is already an item in my inventory.

Top item: 40oz Mugs

I want the variations to be all of the different 40oz mugs already in my inventory.

When you go to add a variation, the only option is to create something NEW

You are correct that the option would be to create a New Variation.

So in your catalog item of 40oz Mugs

You would create a New Variation.

The New Variations name might be like Wildlife or Nurse mug etc which you type in the Variation name you would like.

The reason why you create something new is because your creating a New variation to the item.
