Transfer owner of a Weebly site

My brother has a Weebly site, but he would like to pass it on to my account. How do we do so? We have been trying for solution for days together with no success.

@Aquaos Welcome to the community. I did a search and found thread from 2016 about transferring an account. I know since then Square has bought Weebly, so this info might be outdated. It appears that you have to open a support ticket to get it transferred and from reading the thread you have to have an email address not associated with an Weebly account, all of that could be changed now.

Here’s the process for transferring a Weebly site from your brother’s account to yours. Since Weebly is now integrated into Square Online, the transfer isn’t as simple as a “switch owner” button — but there are two workable paths:

Option 1 – Transfer Account Ownership (Recommended)

If your brother is willing to pass full control of his account to you:

1. Log into his Weebly/Square account.
2. Go to Account Settings → Personal Information.
3. Update the email address to yours.
4. Update the username and password.

 After this, the site and account are essentially yours, with no data lost.

Option 2 – Copy Site to Your Account (More Work)

Weebly doesn’t allow direct site transfers between two accounts, but you can recreate the site:

Success depends on the plan level and whether the site uses a custom domain.

Manual Rebuild (if support won’t transfer)

• In your account, create a new site.

• Reconnect the same domain if needed by changing DNS to point to your new account.

• If the site has a paid plan (Professional, Performance, etc.), you’ll want to make sure billing is updated before renewal.
• If a custom domain is involved, ownership of the domain (and registrar login) is critical. Domains can be reassigned by changing registrant info or moving them into your Square account.
