Hi.
I have been designing my website for the last day or so and I have done lots of sections. I have done lots of work for the past few hours and published it and i even seen all the work i did on the preview page. But on viewing my actual live website none of the work i did was on there.
Then a little box saying '
So, someone from support emailed saying they will assist with the case "until we come to a resolution" on November 19, 2023. I followed up several times and he said they still did not fix it. Yesterday and today, I followed up again ... this time, no response and I received a separate email from a [email protected] saying:
Hi ,

Clearly, they do not have the knowledge to fix this issue. I hope the recent layoffs in this company include support and plan to hire real developers to fix actual issues https://investorplace.com/2023/11/block-layoffs-2023-what-to-know-about-the-latest-sq-job-cuts/
Yeah I’ve given up with a solution. Do you notice any pattern? It was happening when I was editing my site and adding items/photos to my pages from the website editor. I’ve kind of finished my editing now thankfully. Please update if they do find a solution. It’s sooo frustrating!!
I couldn't find a pattern and I too have given up on any solutions from Square. It appears they only like to appear like they are working on resolving issues, but instead, they string you along to pass time with hopes someone from the community offers a workaround or fix.
You're lucky to be almost finished. With this problem, along with other issues with Square, I'm afraid to grow the business. I've lost my confidence with Square and I'm pretty much throwing in the towel.
For me I couldn’t add new items to my store in the website editor without the message. But when I worked outside the website editor it was ok. So when you first login to your square account you should see a menu on the left hand side. instead of selecting “website” then “edit site” from the left hand side menu, I go into “items” then “site items”. Then select one of your items from there so you are taken into “edit item page”. There is a button with 3 little vertical dots in a top right corner, press that and a drop down menu appears. Select duplicate item. It makes a copy of that item and then I was able to edit it, add different photos etc without the interruption. I think the problems are only in the actual website editor option. If you have an online store then this could help. If you have a different type of website that you need to write lots on then I’m not sure. Maybe writing it on a word doc then copy and pasting. Hope that helps.
Thanks for that! I will definitely try it.
Right now, I'm struggling with the "shop all" page. I want to make 4 colums so I can fit more product on a page but it won't let me change it from 3 columns. I've bee trying for months thinking that eventually it will get fixed but no luck so far 🙂
I’ve not really faced that problem myself. So strange isn’t it.
Thanks for the support suggestion. I attempted your workaround but unfortunately, this does not resolve the issue since the edit needs to be from the website editor. For example, in the website editor, there is an "Item shop option" with a checkbox item called "Show Quick Shop Button" and when I check it, I still get the error message.
I think it's crazy that a company of this size can't fix a known issue. I sure hope they figure it out soon!
Good luck getting this fixed, ever! I have been submitting tickets to bring this to their attention, but they don't seem to care about getting a fix. I regret moving my site to Square Online. Shopify was probably a better option, especially with the lack of customization/themes Shopify or any other web builder has. You would think this would be a top priority to catch up to the other services, and a continuing error that makes even the simplest changes impossible tells you the lack of desire or care for their customers. I hate paying for something that doesn't work.
Thanks! I completely agree with you. It should be a simple fix. We use shopify at my day job and it has so many more options but because I already had a square account, I chose to build my site with square. Now I'm regretting my decision. Wish they would take the measures needed to make it better.
