Text receipts

Hi there, I've emailed square directly about this but not had much luck. In the last week I have updated my square account with my new business name, email and location. My old location now says inactive. I did a test payment and it's all working well. But, although the email receipt that's sent out is fully correct, it is also sending a text receipt that is incorrect using my old business name, there is also a link in said text that when followed takes you to my now old website that is not up and running anymore and therefore shows an error code. I have scoured the site and can't work out what's gone wrong. I'm concerned this will be confusing for clients getting a text receipt saying it's from my old business and an email receipt from my new business. Any advice please? Thanks, Caroline.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this, and apologies for the delay in getting back to you. 

 

When checking if any other Sellers had encountered similar issues, I can see there have been some instances where SMS receipts have had the incorrect business information displayed due to the Google Business Profile information not being up to date. 

 

If you haven't already, you can sync your business with Google from your Dashboard:

 

  1. Sign in to your Square Dashboard and click Settings > Account & Settings > My business > Locations.
  2. You’ll see a banner with the Google Business Profile at the top of the Locations page. Click Get Started.
  3. Click Sign in with Google.
  4. Select your business account in the new pop-up.
  5. Review the requirements and select Allow.
  6. Select the category that best fits your business and select Continue.
  7. Fill out the fields that include basic information about your business.
  8. Select Publish.

 

If you continue to have issues after reviewing updating this information, could you let me know if all SMS receipts are affected, or it appears to just be receipts tied to a particular transaction type, Google Wallet payments for example?
