Square marks partially paid invoices as fully paid - CRITICAL

My company makes heavy use of the Square ecosystem. We are well into 7 figures in Square for Retail processing. Recently we ran into a curious (and CRITICAL!) bug in the square invoicing system and the response from square has been abysmal.

 

  • We invoiced a customer for 29.5 yards of fabric, gave him a 20% discount on the purchase and charged $50 in shipping. The invoice totaled a bit over 2k.
  • The invoice was paid (so we thought)  - every bit of the square dashboard has it listed as paid.
  • We needed a copy of the receipt and printed it from the dashboard. Come to find the customer only paid for 1 yard of fabric and the shipping. A bit over $116

Square has since acknowledged the issue and told me it will be resolved in the next update. No one can tell me why it happened, if it is a one off, if past orders have been affected. I can hardly think of a more critical issue. Bug-Report/Rant over - back to looking at all of my invoices to make sure they actually got paid.
