Square fee error in the last couple days

In the last couple of days we have been noticing we have had a different and extra charge in the square fee they charge for tapping and swapping or dipping, it says charges of 2.6% + $0.10 cts, but I been doing the math and they are charging 2.9% + $0.10 cts, why is this? is it different if they tap, swipe or dip? do Square change there fee but haven't change them in the info? has anyone else notice this?

Hey @IVColectivo.  Can you post a screen shot of a transaction that shows 2.9% + $0.10? 

 

I know of 2.9% + $0.30, which is for invoices paid via online cards, as well as cash app and card-on-file payments.  

 

But in order to help you, it would help a lot to see a transaction screen shot or two.

Sure here's one of today where it's $18 the item and by 2.6% + $0.10 cts should have been $0.56 and it is $0.62

 and this other example from yesterday where the count is $30.73 by 2.6% + $0.10 should have been $0.89 or $0.90 it was $0.99 Cts if you do the math $30.73 by 2.9% = $0.89 + $0.10 = $0.99.

 I also notice on the service charges now that I am here we have a service charge of 3.1% for gift wrapping and it is not calculating the amounts ie.

a charge of $17.24 by 3.1% = $0.53 and it's charging $0.34cts

 and this other $47 by 3.1% = $1.45 and it only charged $0.06 cts 

 

how can you help me with this this I have notice it like a year ago but didn't had the time to see it but it's been awhile since I saw it, it could be a few cents I understand but everything add up and by the end of the month I am low because of this, please help

@IVColectivo That clears it up. Remember that card fees are based on the total amount of the transaction, including sales tax and tips, if applicable. Fees are based on the total amount of money authorized for the transaction, not just on the goods and services sold.

Ok, it looked like it was 2.9% since it is frequent by you're right I made some math in other transactions and it gave me the percentage, I am sorry it wasn't clear to me, thank you for your quick response.
