Sole proprietor with EIN

I am a sole proprietor with my business just registered locally, but I do have an EIN. I’m not a corporation. I’m not sure how to set up my account the correct way? If I select sole proprietor, it asks me for my legal name and ssn, but I want to use my business name and FEIN.

I am not sure what you mean you have your EIN registered Locally.  An EIN should be registered Federally.   When you go to register does your EIN have a Bank account associated with it and all Documents to prove your Business and EIN match with a Physical address?  If you have all the paperwork to prove your Business as an EIN, sign up with the Business name and EIN.  This is what I did.  You may have to call Square Support for any other questions before finalizing your Submission to Square to not have any delays or to keep from being rejected.  I signed up in 2019 with my business and EIN but the procedure may have changed since then.

The big things are Square needs to make sure the EIN matched the Name of the EIN for Tax purposes and for Banking.  Then the addresses also have to match the Name (Business name and Address and EIN) when Square checks all the information your are providing.  So when Square asks for Name ( use your Business Name) and then where it asks for SS# enter your EIN number.  The address you use would be the Address you used when filing paperwork to get your EIN.  Just like your Bank account when Square Asks would need to be your Business Bank account and not your Personal Bank account for deposits.
