A customer just contacted me because a charge they made shows up on their credit card account as coming from another (nearby and alphabetically close to my business name) business. I double checked my business name on Square Dashboard and everything looks fine. The money was deposited to me without issue, so it appears to be strictly an issue with how square reported it on their bill. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a resolution to avoid future confusion for my customers?
HI, you can try to contact Customer Support with this link. Monday to Friday, 6:00am-6:00pm PST.

Yes, this is happening to us also. It appears to be geographic in our case as the business is located in the same building. Were you able to get this resolved? I am on with Square right now.
Hi @SMARTRecovery ! Was our Support Team able to help resolve this issue or take a deeper look into it? Please let me know if this is continuing to happen, as this is not expected behavior.
This is happening to me right now. I guess I will have to try and chat with customer support tomorrow and hopefully get it corrected! Thank goodness the client that notified me was my cousin. However, I've had several before her and I hope they remember it was me and don't try to refuse the charges!
What does your Receipt show on your Dashboard?
https://squareup.com/dashboard/business/receipt
from Dashboard - Account and Settings - Business Information - Receipts
Does it have the Correct information there as you can see a Sample Receipt there.
Yes everything there is correct. It literally labeled it as another business that exists but in NV and I'm in IA.
I would deffinately call square support! I was just thinking that if it was labeled there incorrectly that you might be able to fix it, but this sounds more as a Square Support issue.
This is happening to me too.
I’ve had this same problem-contacted the customer-explained what happened and because the business name on the credit card statement wasn’t correct-the sale was disputed. Contacted square customer service three different times-and they all said it wasn’t squares fault-nothing they could do. Must be the credit card company. Tried to blame me, but my information was all correct.
the bank just sided with the customer today; so iv lost the sale as well as the product.
square ultimately says I can hire a lawyer to take it further if I disagree with the customers bank.
i blame square . No help whatsoever in determining WHY the wrong company name was put on the customers credit card statement instead of mine that is set up properly.
I just got another “dispute “ from a different state-customer didn’t recognize the transaction-again, because square put the wrong company name on the credit card receipt.
Ive triple checked my business info and it is all correct-I’m VERY interested in hearing WHY THIS CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM WITH SQUARE
