My Square reader was stolen how do I cancel it?

My square was stolen, do I need to cancel it, or will my new one cancel it out

Hey @Marleyman,

 

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear about your reader.

 

The good news is that there is no personal information stored in our card readers. Everything that ties a transaction to you is tied to the Square account you're logged into on the app on your mobile device - so if your reader has been lost or stolen, you can just connect a new one to your existing account, and anyone who may obtain your old reader won't be able to process anything on your account.

Hey @Away-Up,

 

Square products themselves don't have GPS tracking built into them, so unfortunately can't be traced!
