My Square Register Screen went black, I think it is dead

Attempted to check out my first customer today and the screen was black.  I tried turning it on and off at the power button (10 seconds) and unplugging for a half an hour a few times.  Still nothing is working.  I have only had it for a month.  Pretty sad and made me look really unprofessional.  I have been searching for hours on the internet and seems like an uncommon problem.  Looks like I am handwriting tickets for the weekend with a calculator.

We have had our terminals for one month also. Both went dark and tried all of the above. Spent several hours with two unprofessional support specialists, who could only offer warranties and replacement of hardware. Beyond bummed. I run a very busy restaurant. This was a HUUUUGGGE hit. Had to close before dinner.

So sad to hear about this experience @MimidreamsSAUCE. Did the support rep have you force restart the units? This is when you hold the power button for a longer period of time until the screen shows a countdown to completely reset the device to factory settings.

 

I have personally found that this action is the best to resolve Square Hardware's "hiccups".
