Multi-Package Estimates for Invoices Now Live in Beta

UPDATE: This feature is now available on both iOS and Android devices.

Square Invoices has launched a new Estimates beta feature for a limited time trial to help you easily secure new work and include multiple packages in every estimate. Square Invoices is exploring a series of premium features to help you manage your business better and Multi-Package Estimates is the first that we are releasing to the public. For a limited time, you can use this feature for free.

Multi-package estimates allows you to:

  • Save time with customisable estimates. Stop creating multiple estimates for the same job. Present a few options at once with different price points per package.
  • Cut down on the back-and-forth. Spend less time scoping and pricing with your clients when you present them with more than one choice from the get-go.
  • Quickly close sales from anywhere. Convert an accepted estimate package to an invoice with one click.
  • Easily request payments. Request a deposit or set up invoice payments through Square.

To try out the new feature, navigate to the Estimates tab. From there, simply follow the typical estimate set-up process, and the option to “Add package” will appear on the “Estimates” page under your items list.

Note: This feature will only be available on a limited time trial basis, and has limited functionality on the Square Point of Sale mobile app. The feature is not available on the Square Invoices app. To use the full features, check it out in your Square Dashboard.

Hi Victoria_AU,

Really like the new feature to allow flexibility options to our customers.  I am concerned what happens when the limited time trial runs out and there may still be pending packages waiting conformation.

Will it become a paid service, or will they disappear at the end of the trial?

Love to see this included in the dashboard as a fixture.

Regards

Ben

Hi @BennyT19

Got to be completely honest here - the team that created the feature haven't fully decided what will happen to multi-package estimates that have been created but not accepted when we transition out of the trial period.

All I know is that it will become a paid feature when the trial ends, but the price is still to be determined.

Would love to hear your thoughts on what you'd expect the transition to a paid feature to look like?

I'll also be sure to loop back in on this thread when I have an update for you!

Thanks for looking into it @Victoria_SQ, it's a bit hard for me to say for sure without knowing the price of the feature down the track and making a judgement on whether I think I would maintain it.

It would be nice to have any pending package deals last for say 90 days, then if they haven't been accepted in that time frame maybe it becomes a paid feature?

Must admit, I am not much of a fan of paid features when tbh,I am already paying a processing fee for the app, if the app is enhanced while taking fees, that's part of the ongoing service and improvement IMO.

For small businesses, based at home and watching all the $$, it will be a call that I have to make when more details come to hand.

Thanks again for your time.

Regards

Ben

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback here @BennyT19! I've passed it onto the product team for consideration on how we should transition out of the trial.

Completely understand it's hard to make a call about the feature without knowing the cost. I'm sorry I couldn't get a concrete answer for you on how much it will be, but I'll let you know any more information as I have it.
