I'd like to be able to adjust the visibility of online items from the point of sale with Square.
Here is my scenario.
We run a bar/pub. 90% of our product sales are beers, poured from our 10 taps.
These taps are connected to kegs, usually containing 30L of beer.
When a keg runs out, a member of staff will replace it with another one, this will usually be a different beer.
(I, as manager, will have set the product up with pricing previously on the dashboard and left the beer marked as 'unavailable' for Online)
I would like the staff member to be able to go to the POS and find the item and make it Available for purchase, both via POS and online (self-service). I believe we can do the first part and make it available for POS but this does not change the online status.
How is this possible without the staff having access to the dashboard?
Thanks
D
Hi @Dirky, thanks for sharing this!
It sounds like you're currently using the Available for purchase online toggle. At the moment, when this is turned off and turned back on within the app, the item won't be visible immediately so there is a need for an extra step (logging into the Dashboard and make the item visible again).
The new Sold Out feature may help with what you're looking to do. With this, you can manually mark an item as Available or Unavailable and this will be sync within the app and also to your Square Online site.
The only thing to note is that if you currently have stock tracking enabled from Dashboard, you won't be able to manually mark item as available or unavailable at the moment. This is something our team are aware of and are tracking.
