Limit amount of order for specified day

Hi,

 

Is there anyway to limit amount of orders coming in for specified day or everyday?

 

We have received a number of offline orders for father's day and we are about to launch our website soon.  We don't want our customers to be placing orders through the site and we end up not able to fulfil them.  This also applies on daily basis as we don't have the capacity to fulfil too many orders in a day.

 

Any suggestions?

At the moment you can limit orders placed within a 15 minute time window (for social distancing) however I'm not aware of a way to actually restrict the total number of orders on a given day.

 

There are few things you could try as workarounds: 

 

- Keep a close eye on the number of incoming orders, and if need be, you can make online items unavailable from the Items section of the Square Online dashboard once you had enough orders. This would require manual monitoring as opposed to cutting off the ability to order based on having a set number of orders in a day.

- You could add a requirement of a day or more for prep time, to give yourself more time to prepare orders.

- Using your item inventory, you could assign a certain number of your products as available for ordering, then when this number of orders has been reached, the item will be marked as sold out. The downside to this would be limits are placed on a per item bases rather than a total number of orders.
