Known Issue 10/21/23: Multiple Services Disruption

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "TRANSACTIONS DISAPPEARING!"

 

Using the square stand with the iPad for Square for retail we have an issue with transactions disappearing... They eventually come back after one to five minutes. The sales total also does not update when the transactions disappear, This has happened for at least the last 3 years, but seems to be getting worse. @_Violet

Normally the transaction screen will show all sales immediately and for some reason after running a cash sale and a card sale they aren't appearing on the transaction screen at all.

We are in Graeagle, CA and having same issue today. 10-21-23. I only have one transaction showing up on all platforms. However, I tested a cc charge with my own cc and it is showing the transaction on my bank account. super frustrating! I have about 10 transactions unaccounted for (so far).

I am missing an outrageous anount of sales!!!!! Nothing in transactions and nothing in sales history. We confirmed with customers that money was taken from their accounts but nothing came to us, no records to show in the app even though we would get the approved check mark on our screen. That money was for product to keep us afloat during these difficult times. Where is our hard earned money? We worked our a**** off and have nothing to show for it.

We are experiencing the same....my early transactions are now starting to show up in the transaction screen. 

I did a test with my own credit card and the charges are showing up on my bank side. I am now printing a receipt on my end to keep.

Total pain! This has been happening since at least Wednesday 10/18

 

square is pushing me closer and closer to finding another POS with this constant stream of bugs

we are having the same issue, after a customer has paid, it isn't showing up in transaction.  We couldn't give a refund because we couldn't see the transaction as well.  We also can't view invoices, when we view invoice, the screen goes blank.  Is Square reliable now, because we lost out last time they had an outage and its the weekend and you can't get a hold anyone to talk to because its the weekend.

Today is Saturday 10/21/2023.  I just ran two transactions $35 and $9.03 via payment method credit card tap.  The transactions ran through like another other transactions, no error messages etc.  After the customer left, we went to the Transaction screen, but can't find these two latest transactions.  I suspect there is another Square Outage.  I then tested it by running my own credit card through, and the transaction seemed to go through ok... again no error message.  We then went to the Transaction screen again to call up my test transaction so I could refund it.  Well what do you know... I can't see the test transaction either.  My question is, is there something wrong with Square??  If so, its very deceiving to not get an error message when a transaction is not being paid.  Are we out of $$ of all the other transactions that had this issue and didn't get noticed???

Same here. Transactions as of 3:16pm on 10/21/23 not showing. This happened about a month ago and I freaked out. No error message though. 

the transactions showed up the next day. I’m hoping it’s the same issue. It sucks, but hopefully the transactions will show

I have had the same issue since about 11am.... Customer asked for no receipt, Then wife asked for a receipt.  No problem go to Transactions print another receipt..... That transaction was not there neither were a few others... showed a few from earlier.

 

Found out Reporting is SLOW!!!  Even for Cash Transactions.  Called Square and checked issquareup.com .... Square is having issues.  So I have been trying to configure other printers to print a Receipt so I have proof of said Transactions Just in Case a Technician at Square while trying to fix all this deletes transactions.  So I finally got my Star printer that is connected via Lan and Now by USB to print 1 receipt automatically and one if requested.   Only problem is that the one that Prints automatically via USB is Mirrored.  So I can not read it but I can scan it then mirror it to get the Receipt number and all items that were sold with the total dollar amount.  I wish there was a way for me to send ever receipt to a PDF or similar to myself or a Google Drive as MY backup.

 

Maybe you can set up something to get a hard copy of transactions till this is fixed

Ours are not showing up either.  Sick and tired of the system going down and then no message or way to contact square.  This time I am switching to a different provider.  I've had enough.   ANSWER THE PHONE SQUARE!!!  WHAT THE HELL IS GOING WRONG NOW!!!  IS THIS ANY WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS, HIDE WHEN YOUR SYSTEM BREAKS DOWN?
