HI
I sell my products at events and on line. I have all the prices in my item library. As long as I do not run a sale with different prices everything is fine. Here is an example: I am having a ONCE A YEAR SALE and everything is 30% off. I have reflected that in the price in my item library. On the website, these prices are there. When I go to an event they are not reflected on my Square item list. So I have to create a special item line which does not help to keep inventory. If I sell a bag at an in person event I have to do a generic bag price. We sell the bags by category and pattern. Then I have to go back to my store and inventory. Any help is appreciated.
hello @SusanMelanie thanks for your post. I'm sorry you're having trouble with this. When you indicate a sale price in your item library, that sale price is only visible and applies to your online store. If you would like to discount an item when selling in person, you can set up a standard discount which you can apply to any item you choose when checking out. This will help not having to create a special line item. The discount you apply will also help you keep inventory.
To create a discount, go to Items & Services:
https://app.squareup.com/dashboard/items/pricing/discounts
and then choose Create a Discount. In your case you could create a 30% discount, and when you checkout a customer BEFORE charging the sale, you have the option to apply a discount when you review the sale.
I hope this helps answer your question, and although this isn't ideal it may save you time and allow you to better track your inventory.
