Sounds like the owner of the site did not give you the proper Team Member permissions (just guessing as the volunteer community members are not the same as Customer or Tech Support - we don't have the ability to look at user account setups). I believe you will need "Full Access" to the account to edit the Online Store ("Full Access" still won't allow major account changes such as editing the bank account).
