I’m just starting out and have a question about the sales tax. My company is set up for WA and I’ve tested using my address in WA and everything showed up fine. Now I have a potential
customer in FL asking what the total amount would be with shipping and taxes. I put in her address and it’s not generating any sales tax. I see that many say to talk to their accountant, what if taxes need to be applied, how would we go about fixing this?
It seems like Washington State is a destination based sales tax state- see your State's rules here.

If you're going to do a lot of business in the future with out-of-state customers I'd look for a service that could handle the sales tax for you. We use DAVO (which syncs with Square).
As for the correct tax rate- you would need to add it to Square.
Add the state's tax rate in square and turn it on for online sales. check with a tax pro, too.
