How do I change the business name more than 3 times a year?

I have 2 businesses under the same account (it says you can have 3). I was changing the business name to get the correct business name on the invoices. I've done this many times, but now I'm getting a red alert message saying I have exceeded the limit of changing the business name abd that it can only be changed 3 times? Ive changed it many more times than that before - every week. How can I invoice from the right business (one is photography and one is property maintenance) if I cant change the business name?  I cant send my photography clients an invoice that's from my property care business. Help please.

Thanks for reaching out with your question, I'd be happy to provide some more information about recent changes to this policy.


Square will allow Sellers to change their Business Name and Locations Business Name up to three times within a 12-month period. Should you attempt to exceed this limit you will receive a notification advising you cannot make any further changes until this period renews.

 

While we can change that limit in the future and depending on the name change you are making, we no longer advise making frequent changes to your Business Name. Instead, you should create the relevant Square accounts or individual locations for each business as required. Depending on the name change you are making, your Square account may be subject to review.

 

If you run multiple businesses under the same ABN, we recommend creating multiple locations to keep receipts and reporting consistent across your account.
