Figuring total sales from transfers and sales report

What am I missing?  If I take the total transfers by item (say net sales) and need to calculate total sales for the period, I would think I could take net sales from the tranfers plus a portion (total deposit less sales taxes) of my bank deposits (local deposits) and get a total sales number.  However, if I compare the sales report to the above number, I'm way off?  Does anyone know how to calculate total sales by taking the transfer numbers and adding something to get the sales per the sales report.

Confusing I know.  Net sales from the transfer report

plus cash/check deposits (part of them)

                                should equal total sales.

My numbers are 713k adding net sales from each transfer report plus a calculated cash/check deposit netted for sales tax -- compared to 765k per the sales summary (52k understated-if the total sales number is accurate.

Hey there @rcjohnsn.  First of all, I’m having a hard time coming up with a good reason to go through all of this.  Can you elaborate on why you would go to all of this trouble, since Square has a total sales report  in the Reports section of your web dashboard (called the Sales Summary report)?

Second, if you must for some reason go to all of this trouble, you are missing the fact that transfers don’t include your card processing fees.  Also, if you use Square automatic savings folders, the money automatically saved would also be deducted from the amount of your transfer.  Then, there are Gift Card load fees.  Basically, there can be few or many things that can impact your transfer number, but it will always be lower than your total sales.
