EIN entry doesn't stick

Need to add our EIN to our information, we are nonprofit, all volunteer. Account owner has tried repeatedly and the information does not remain. Suggestions?  NOT getting help from calling in.

Hi @R3dwing591 ! Like @Minion said, I know this post was made a while ago....but I still want to provide an answer here in case you still need it or others come across the thread. I do recommend reaching out to Support as well, as we are not tax experts here. I hope this helps.

 

Adding/Updating EIN
  1. Correct Path

    1. Square Dashboard →
      Settings →
      Business →
      Tax Information →
      Update Tax ID
  2. Required Information

    • Legal business name (exactly as registered)
    • Valid EIN
    • Business type (select Nonprofit)
    • Tax filing name
Common Issues & Solutions
  1. Information Not Saving

    • Clear browser cache
    • Use Chrome or Safari
    • Try incognito mode
    • Verify all fields complete
  2. Verification Issues

    • Match IRS registration exactly
    • Check for typos
    • Ensure proper format (XX-XXXXXXX)
    • Verify business name matches
